Truman Lake is the first lake in the Osage River system, which also includes Lake of the Ozarks, which features over 900 miles of shoreline. This 55,600 acre reservoir in west central Missouri, near the town of Warsaw, is a structure-fisherman's paradise. With many rocky areas, not to mention 1000's acres of underwater, standing timber.

Bass fishing on Truman is excellent. A very good portion of the lakes population of largemouth, smallmouth, and spotted bass exceed the 15" minimum length. Truman Lake is the venue for many bass, and crappie fishing tournaments every year.

Crappie and Catfish fishing at Truman is also excellent

Truman is well-known by the locals for it's hybrid- striper, and white bass fishing. Many 10+lb. hybrids are caught each year.

Early-spring paddlefish-snagging season draws many anglers to the lake each year.

The lake supports populations of many other species, including walleye, bluegill, blue, channel, and flathead catfish.

The lake also boasts the state record goldeye at 1 lb-6 oz.
